  • Tony Kane receives Roll of Honour Award for his contribution to the Direct Marketing Association, Europe’s largest trade marketing body

Tony Kane, group marketing director at Key Retirement Group, has received a Roll of Honour award by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) in recognition of giving more than 13 years’ service to the one-to-one marketing trade body.

It recognises a nine-year term of office as chairman of DMA North, a role he held until April last year, and a twelve-year tenure as board director at DMA UK which ended in December last year.

His career has seen him work alongside some of the UK’s leading household names in financial services, media and retail. He was appointed to his role at Key Retirement in 2013 from AJ Bell, one of the UK’s largest online investment platforms and stockbroking services, where he was director of direct marketing and e-commerce.

His extensive knowledge and expertise in multi-channel marketing and communications has included working for brands including Aviva, Next, Otto Versand, LoveFilm, BT and Harvest Media Group, Universal Music Group, and Holland & Barrett.

Tony Kane, group marketing director at Key Retirement Group, said: “To receive the DMA’s Roll of Honour Award is a huge privilege. My nine-year term of office as chairman of DMA North has been an incredibly rewarding experience in itself, working alongside some of the brightest minds in marketing and nurturing the talent of tomorrow. To be recognised like this is a great surprise and I am proud to receive the award.”

Julia Porter, chair of the DMA, said: "Tony has had a stellar career as a marketing practitioner and that alone would merit some recognition from DMA. In addition he has served the DMA both as a main Board Director and the leader of DMA North. We wanted to award him the Roll of Honour as a sign of our appreciation for this significant contribution."

Rachel Aldighieri, managing director of the DMA, said: “The Roll of Honour recognises those who have made a dramatic impact to the one-to-one marketing industry, and we are proud to recognise Tony who has made such a strong contribution to improving the business of communication. Tony has generously given his time and resources to push the industry forward over many years, and we thank him for this.”
